Pietermaritzburg Workshop: Framework for National Land Use Classification

The Chief Directorates of Spatial Planning and Information (SPI) and National Geo-Information (NGI) of the Department of Rural Development & Land Reform is starting a process of developing a standard for land use classifications, methodology, reporting and notations (symbology) in South Africa. The first phase of this process will be to engage with planners, GIS and survey people across the country through facilitated workshops while future phases will develop a standard. It is in this regard that we are writing to you to see if you could help us. We need to ensure that as many provincial, municipal and private sector planners, GIS and survey people are invited to the workshops.
