The Department of Rural Development and Land Reform and the International Cartographic Association (ICA), with support from CONSAS, will present a one-day workshop on modern cartography. The workshop will be presented by three eminent, internationally-renowned academics in the field of cartography and who are leaders in the ICA.

Prof Georg Gartner

Dean and Professor of Cartography, Institute of Geoinformation and Cartography, Vienna University of Technology, Vienna, Austria, and President of ICA;

Prof László Zentai

Professor and Head of Department of Cartography and Geoinformatics, Eötvös Loránt University, Budapest, Hungary, and Secretary-General and Treasurer of ICA;

Prof William Cartwright

Professor (retired) of Cartography, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia, and Past-President of ICA.

This workshop will be of particular interest to practitioners and students in the field of cartography and geospatial information science (geo-visualisation). It will cover contemporary cartographic topics of web mapping, location-based services, cartographic design and visualization.

This workshop is accredited with PLATO for one CPD point.

Registration Fee: R415 (a nominal registration fee to cover basic costs)
