Dr Herman Booysen, through Y2NEXT, is offering learning experiences that will provide knowledge and skills that can be applied in research, GISc projects and workplace environment.

Introduction in GISc and QGIS (Level 1)

  • Date: 9 – 11 February 2021

One of the aims of the course is to introduce the students to GISc concepts that will help them in conducting their GIS work.

QGIS will be used as GIS software to learn GIS functionality. Basic GIS functions will be taught to analyse data and visualise the results.

The practical application will be to identify Covid-19 hotspots in Bloemfontein.

Costing:

Costing for the course will apply a tier mechanism to calculate the cost of attending the training:

Tier 1 includes training and training material. Cost = R500 per day.

Tier 2 includes training, training material and three (3) hours of consultation after the training is completed. Cost = R1 000 per day.

Tier 3 includes training, training material and five (5) hours of consultation after the training is completed. Cost = R1 800 per day.
